Free DJ software, nothing locked away

Open-source DJ software with the tools you actually mix with: beat grids, hot cues, loops, key lock, and a mixer built to keep up.

In active development

Mixar DJ interface with dual decks, waveforms, and mixer

The whole booth

Two decks, a full mixer, performance pads, and offline analysis. All of it open source.

Dual decks

Two full decks with overview and scrolling waveforms, beat grid, play/pause, seek, tempo, and key lock to change speed without changing pitch.

Mixer and metering

Gain, 3-band EQ, filter, volume, crossfader, cue/PFL, and VU meters across the mix bus.

One pad grid, many modes

Hot cues, loop roll, beat jump, sampler, and stems all live on the same pads. Pick a mode and the grid becomes that tool.

Library and analysis

Folder collections, track metadata, and offline analysis for BPM, key, loudness, and artwork.

Open MIDI mapping

Map the MIDI controller you already own and keep the layout you know. No hardware paywall.

Low-latency mixing

Tight timing where it counts: nudge the pitch, punch a loop, and fire a cue on the beat instead of after it.

Four stems.
One file.

A Stem file is a track split into its parts: drums, bass, other, and vocals. Mixar plays NI Stems natively, so you can pull the vocals for an a cappella, cut the drums for a breakdown, or solo one part and let it ride. No Stems yet? Mixar can split any track into four for you.

  • Plays NI Stems natively

Drop a Stem file on a deck and every part is ready to go. No converting, no re-exporting, no extra software.

  • Splits any track into four

A normal track can be separated into drums, bass, other, and vocals, so your whole library becomes mixable.

  • Mute and solo live

The deck's pads mute any part or solo one on its own, so you can change the arrangement while the track plays.

  • Ready next time you load it

Mixar keeps the four parts together with the track, so they're waiting the next time the track hits a deck.

Stems are an open format from Native Instruments. Mixar plays them as they are, and can build one from any track you own.
